The Zaky ZAK® - safety and evidence-based care for healthy babies

The Zaky ZAK® is an ergonomic, evidence-based device for safely holding babies (1–15 lbs) from the very beginning. It supports skin-to-skin care, breastfeeding, and developmental positioning at home or in the hospital.

It creates a quiet, nurturing environment—clothed or skin-to-skin—while allowing quick, gentle access for parents and healthcare providers.

Designed to enhance kangaroo care, The Zaky ZAK® reduces risks of drops and injuries, strengthens bonding and breastfeeding, calms babies, and streamlines care for families and teams.

Protecting Babies. Empowering Nurses. Supporting Families.

With The Zaky ZAK®, you don’t have to choose between safety and evidence-based care—it bridges the two. 💚 Meet Neela, a NICU therapist who, when she had her own baby, shared: ‘I used it every day for ten weeks.’

  • The Challenge in Perinatal Care

Fatigue + pain meds → higher risk of baby drops

Nurses can’t be at the bedside 24/7

NAS/NOWS babies require longer, more frequent holding

Healthy babies still face risk during breastfeeding or burping

  • What Nurses & Hospitals Are Trying

Some hospitals are considering padding floors or putting mats around beds. This only addresses what happens after a drop, not preventing it in the first place.

Others tell mothers to “just stay awake.” But fatigue after delivery, anesthesia, or pain medication makes this unrealistic and unsafe.

Some even discourage parents from holding their babies. This directly contradicts decades of evidence showing that skin-to-skin care and early breastfeeding are among the safest, most effective interventions for stability, bonding, and neurodevelopment.

  • What the Data Shows

    • Accidental drops = costly and traumatic
    • Preventing one drop saves hospitals more than the cost of prevention tools
    • Safety investments reduce nurse stress & increase parent confidence
  • Why The Zaky ZAK® Works

Only evidence-based wrap designed for safety & ergonomics

Supports all babies (healthy, NAS/NOWS, medically fragile)

Welcomed in antepartum, L&D, C-section recovery, mother–baby, NICU, PICU, and at home

  • Quick Tips for Nurses

Screen for maternal sleepiness before skin-to-skin

Use approved safety devices—not improvised solutions

    Involve partners/family as extra eyes
