The Zaky HUG - Instructional Videos

"Relax, because if you relax, it will hurt less," says every doctor or nurse before or during a painful procedure. But how do you help a baby relax? The Zaky® is engineered specifically to calm and relax babies who can’t respond to verbal instructions, providing comfort and support during critical moments.

Easy to Learn and Use
Nurse educators love The Zaky HUG® because it’s highly intuitive and virtually replaces all developmental care aids. Position the baby with your hands, and The Zaky HUG® helps maintain that proper position to support musculoskeletal development in prone, supine, and side-lying positions. You can adjust it to provide the perfect level of support, from a firm bolster (by folding the empty hand vertically) to a light touch, with just a few grams of weight displaced over very low birth weight (VLBW) babies.

Attachment and Bonding
Parents can scent The Zaky HUG® by wearing it on their chest or behind their neck, ensuring it carries their comforting scent for their baby.

Containment and Boundaries
The Zaky HUG® offers soothing containment all around the baby. As a rule of thumb, only place 10-15% of the baby’s weight on their body. You can easily adjust The Zaky HUG® by displacing the filling to achieve the appropriate weight.

Transport and Transitional Aid
The Zaky HUG® helps keep babies calm during transport—from room to room, from incubator to crib, and during discharge—ensuring their comfort and safety in any hospital unit and beyond.

Supporting Family Integrated Care
The Zaky HUG® is a perfect tool for parents learning about developmental and family-integrated care. With little training, parents become proficient in lovingly care for their baby with patience and care.

Kangaroo Care Comfort
During kangaroo care, place The Zaky HUG® behind the parent's neck for support and scenting. It helps stabilize the parent's neck while warming and scenting The Zaky HUG® for use with the baby after the session ends, assisting in the transition as parent and child separate.
