I have been a member of Jersey Shore Mothers of Multiples for about 5 years now and I've been a part of many rewarding projects, but few have made me so proud as securing 20 Zaky HUGs for our local NICUs.
I'm chair of our monthly charities and it was suggested that for January 2019 we donate to our local hospital NICU Jersey Shore University Hospital.
After speaking to one of our members who works there as a nurse, she suggested that we donate equipment instead of a monetary donation and the NICU requested The Zaky HUG.
After looking up the product's website, I learned of their amazing donation match program for fundraisers so I applied. We were hoping to raise about $200-$300 and purchase as many HUGs as we could get.
Well, as soon as our members became aware of what we were doing, the donations started pouring in. By the end of January we had well exceeded our goal. Since January's fundraiser had gone so well, we decided to extend the project into February and support a second NICU at Monmouth Medical Center.
Within a few weeks we had raised enough to purchase 10 HUGs and could take full advantage of the donation match generously offered by Nurtured by Design on behalf of Zachary.
Seeing all our moms come together in this way was completely heartwarming knowing that we are supporting premie babies and giving them the best chance possible at life.
